Welcome

Welcome
The Pakistan Women’s National Team recently played in the 2024 SAFF Women’s Championship. A competition hosted by the national teams in the South Asian Football Federation. However between 2014 - 2022, they didn’t play a single fixture. But why?

Multiple reasons, but the main being issues with the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF). The PFF were suspended several times by FIFA for infighting and third-party interference. With no games being played, they lost their FIFA ranking.

The Women’s Team are now back as a result of the public continuously asking the board to arrange matches for them. It shows the demand was there but the lack of fixtures halted their progress. After the ban was lifted they played against the Maldives winning 7-0.

The Team still have not been getting regular games but they played against their biggest rivals, India in September 2022. They have talented young players who just need an outlet to grow and develop with regular opportunities to to play in quality games.

The Team went to this years SAFF Women’s Championship which is a six-team tournament held in Saudi Arabia however they finished bottom of Group A.

Since the Euros in England we have seen women’s football reach new highs in Europe, however there are many countries still being let down by Federations when it comes to giving women acce
ss and opportunities in football.
