Spurs Women – Technical Director

Job Description:
The Club is seeking a Women’s Technical Director to take ownership of the direction and development of players and their coaches.
JOB PURPOSE
- Build competitive team of players and managers whose football skills fit the Club’s sporting culture.
- Develop a sustainable football model and sporting identity over a multi-year period that looks after the medium to long term Interests of the Club.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop a sustainable football model and sporting identity for Women’s Football over a multi-year period
- Strategically lead recruitment in identification and assessment of prospective playing talent for all areas of the football club (Women’s first team and Academy Teams)
- Deliver relevant information on target players for consideration of the Women’s Football Board
- Establish a communication strategy with the coaches to provide advice and support on coaching matters. Provide coaches with assessments covering training and game day activities
- During pre-season engage coaching teams and outline strategic framework/club requirements
- Work with the relevant Head/ Head of Methodology in the development and implementation of coaching standards, roles and responsibilities, and professional support and development pathways to coaching and playing groups
- Support the clubs’ coaches and managers of all Women’s teams to develop and implement a football development plan and playing model for all age groups
- In conjunction with the coaches oversee the selection of respective teams or squads
- Operate as a key contact for agents and other clubs globally
- Oversee and ensure an effective national and international recruitment network
- Ensure regular and effective dialogue exists between the analysis department bringing together objective and subjective data
- Ensure the player recruitment process and reporting protocols are Implemented and adhered to
- Oversee the assessment of existing player recruitment with regular performance reviews and appropriate KPI’s
- Oversee the release of Academy players ensuring that the Club/PL/FA guidelines and protocols are followed.
- Ensure complete market coverage.
- Work closely with the Women’s Managing Director, Chief Football Officer and relevant staff and Board regarding player transfers and acquisitions
- Provide operational dashboards for all departments that the Chief Football Officer can use in meetings.
- Ensure ‘best value’ is achieved in the identification of and negotiations for incoming player transfers
- Manage the department budget and provide regular updates to the Chief Football Officer
- Liaise with external governing bodies and leading clubs to ensure that we remain aware and at the forefront of best practice operationally.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Experienced as a sporting director/technical director within a top-level European Women’s League
- Experience of embedding an unambiguous and well-implemented philosophy
- Proven ability to work at a senior level with senior executives within the club
- Skilled in performance analysis and experienced in making evidence-based player assessments and decisions
- An excellent understanding of the UK, European and International player markets and a good network of contacts
- Clear understanding of the governance and legislative framework in relation to domestic and International player transactions
- A detailed understanding of player registration issues and processes, scholarship agreements and player contracts
- Confident in complex negotiations with proven experience
- Operates with professionalism and Integrity and values align with the Club’s values
- Able to implement new ideas to improve and evolve systems currently in place
- Prior experience managing, developing and motivating people
- Proven ability to build close relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to develop and deliver solutions
- Demonstrable experience communicating, counselling and influencing challenging and sensitive issues.
- Established reputation as a self-starter with a strong “can do” attitude, prepared to get things done and manage teams effectively
- Experienced operating at senior management levels to drive change and embed working methods.

Woking Women – Social Media Manager

Contract

The FA – Women’s Senior ETC Player Development Lead

We are looking for a Women’s Senior ETC Player Development Lead to work within Girls Emerging Talent Centres to support the development of better players for the future game. The role will involve leading a team to oversee player development across a group of Centres within a region, including supporting the identification and development of talented players, and ensuring the delivery of outstanding technical programmes across the system.
The role will take on the management and leadership of a small team of staff responsible for developing better players in the FAs Girls Emerging Talent Centres.
The Premier League fund the delivery of up to 75 Emerging Talent Centres for talented female footballers aged 8-16 years. The Centres provide local technical and physical development for talented girls, supported by a varied games programme that stretches and challenges players.
The role will contribute to the delivery an outstanding talent pathway that provides a wide and diverse pool of talent for future Women’s England Teams, and the wider domestic game.
Key Points To Note:
The role will cover the Midlands / South West region so we are looking for candidates who are based in region or are willing to be based in region.
This is a fixed term contract that will run until 30th June 2027.
Interviews are currently scheduled to be held on the 4th or 5th February 2025 at The National Football Centre, St. George’s Park.

What will you be doing?
- Lead and manage a team of staff responsible for developing better players within Girls’. Emerging Talent Centres.
- Support the FA Club Talent Pathway Manager with the development of Emerging Talent Centre player development programmes.
- Lead the development of an outstanding programme of support to Emerging Talent Centres which contributes to finding and developing talented girls.
- Support centres to develop and deliver an outstanding technical and physical training programme which focusses on player development.
- Support centres to develop the knowledge and know how to identify and recruit talented girls.
- Support centres to deliver a challenging and varied games programme.
- Work with England Futsal to embed futsal within centres, along with other small sided formats, as a tool to support outstanding player development.
- Support the roll out of the FA Emerging Talent Centre Technical Framework, and Physical Framework.
- Work with The FA Coach Development Teams, to provide support and learning for the coaching workforce in centres.
- Work with the Women’s Senior Club Talent Pathway Manager to ensure that player development programmes are well connected across the club talent pathway.
- Deliver sessions to talented girls within centre environments as part of the learning support for the coaching workforce.
- Support centres to understand talent identification, and ensure they have a robust plan to deliver effective TID
- Support centres to implement impactful individual player development plans for players.
- Seek and support innovative ways to improve the development of players within Emerging Talent Centres.
- Support club action planning in response to the system audit process.
- Plan and prioritise a schedule of regular communication and visits to clubs / centres within the region.
- Ensure effective collaboration across the Girls Talent System in the identification of talented players.
- Contribute to the wider direction, planning and review of the club pathway.
- Support the delivery of events which support the learning and development of ETC workforce.
- Work with the Premier League and the FA to identify examples of high quality player development.
- Work closely with the FA’s Women’s Technical Team on the progress and implementation of the Women’s Technical Strategy.
- Attend departmental meetings as and when required.
- Executes additional tasks as required in order to meet FA Group changing priorities.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures to ensure the highest standards of health, safety and wellbeing can be maintained.
